Bridges are the perfect solution for those missing one or more teeth in a row and want to have them replaced without any of the hassle of a removable piece. While normally a bridge is made using a frame similar to a retainer, with the new teeth attached to the frame, a fixed bridge is more like an interconnected set of implants that are permanent and attached directly to the jaw bone. Normally patients have to clean their bridges daily or remove them for certain activities, but a fixed bridge stays in place and is fully functional, just like natural teeth.
Before placement of a bridge, your adjacent natural teeth are prepared. After this preparation is complete, the bridge is cemented on to your natural teeth, providing a "bridge" between these two teeth.
